Miles are straight-line from the centre of Tampa Bay. For Silver Dollar Golf, Trap Club & RV Resort (the centre of the park's town, not the park itself); Terra Ceia Village RV Resort (the centre of the park's town, not the park itself); Winter Quarters Manatee RV Resort (the centre of the park's town, not the park itself), no geocoder matched the park's address, so the distance is approximate and rounded to five miles.

Every one of these caps the summer, and that is not a coincidence

All 5 parks here publish the same rule: a maximum of 14 days per site from April 15 to September 15. They share an operator, Encore / Equity LifeStyle Properties, so this is a chain policy rather than a local decision.

The consequence is blunt. Between those dates there is no single-site monthly stay to be had at any of them, whatever the rate is. A stay starting in that window needs a park outside this chain, a private lot, or a plan to move the RV mid-stay. All 5 state that back-to-back 14-day bookings are allowed on this condition: "Guests change sites between reservations" (read on 2026-10-14). Filling the whole window that way is 11 bookings and 10 site changes in 154 days. That is the workaround, and it costs a move every 14 days.

Why the long term booking stops at 184 days

These parks publish two booking tiers: 1 to 27 nights, and 28 to 184 nights. All 5 say how a longer stay is booked: an extended-stay reservation "lasting 185 days or more" under an "Agreement for Use of RV Site", with a $150 site holding deposit that "does not secure a specific site" and residency requirements the pages do not spell out (read on 2026-10-14).

Six months is where Florida law changes twice. Florida Statutes 212.03(4) gives a guest two routes out of the transient rentals tax. The first is a bona fide written lease for longer than six months for continuous residence, which takes the stay out of the tax from the start. The second is continuous residence longer than six months after paying the tax for the first six months, which exempts the stay from then on. Florida Statutes 513.01 treats an RV park guest registered for 6 months or less as transient.

184 days is not a fixed number of months. Six calendar months run 181 to 184 days depending on the start month, so a 184-day booking runs longer than six months if it starts on the first of January, February, April, June, September, October, November or December, and is exactly six months, not longer, if it starts on the first of March, May, July or August. The statute's line is longer than six months, so count the stay on a calendar, not in days.

So a stay planned as “about six months” is the worst length to ask for. Stay at or under 181 days and it is six months or less whatever the start month: an ordinary long booking that pays the transient rentals tax. Go past six months with a written lease signed up front and the stay is out of the tax from the start. Go past it without one and the tax is paid for the first six months, then stops.

A pad rented for six months or less also carries the local option rate of the county the park sits in. The towns around Tampa Bay sit in 3 counties, with local rates of 5.0 to 6.0 percent on DR-15TDT, and the town pages print each county's rate. DR-15TDT says the local option rate is charged in addition to the 6 percent state sales tax and any applicable county discretionary sales surtax, and that not all counties report rate changes to the Department, so treat the figure as a floor and confirm the surtax with the Florida Department of Revenue.

Nearest park to each town in the ring

Nobody searches for a metro. They search from wherever they are standing, and the answer changes by town. These are straight-line distances to the closest park, not drive times; a distance marked “about” is to a park whose position is approximate.

What none of them publish

Not one park in this set states whether it invoices in a guest's name, whether it accepts an insurance-funded booking, whether it will hold a pad while a claim is decided, or whether electric is metered on top of the monthly rate. None states amps or sewer at the pad either.

That is not an oversight in the research. It is what the parks publish, and it is why each record below lists those fields as unanswered. Ask them before you book, and get the answer in writing.

Questions people ask

Which long term RV parks near Tampa Bay take a stay of 28 nights or more?

Winter Quarters Pasco RV Resort in Lutz, Vacation Village RV Resort in Largo, Silver Dollar Golf, Trap Club & RV Resort in Odessa, Terra Ceia Village RV Resort in Palmetto, Winter Quarters Manatee RV Resort in Bradenton. Each publishes a booking tier of 28 nights and above, and each was read from its own pages on 2026-09-14.

Is there a maximum stay at long term RV parks near Tampa Bay?

Yes. Every park compiled here caps a booking at 14 days per site from April 15 to September 15, all under one operator, Encore / Equity LifeStyle Properties. Outside that window they take bookings of 28 nights and longer.

Can I book a monthly RV site near Tampa Bay in summer?

Not at these parks on a single site. The 14-day cap runs from April 15 to September 15, so a monthly stay in that window needs a park outside this chain, a private lot, or a move part way through.

Do long term RV parks near Tampa Bay publish monthly rates?

None of the parks compiled here publishes a monthly rate, an electric arrangement, amperage or sewer detail. Those come by telephone, and each record lists the number to call.

What should I ask before booking a long term RV park?

Four things, in writing: the maximum stay, whether the park invoices monthly in your name with the pad fee on its own line, whether electric is metered on top of the rate, and whether it will hold a pad while an insurer decides.
